RMUTL provides free public access to its green and open spaces, including parks, gardens, communal courtyards, and outdoor recreational zones shared by students, staff, and surrounding communities. The university also promotes a green library environment, offering energy-efficient study spaces, digital learning resources, and outdoor reading areas connected to landscaped green zones. In addition, RMUTL’s sports complex facilities support healthy lifestyles by providing accessible spaces for physical activity and community engagement.
The university sets measurable targets to encourage sustainable commuting—such as increasing walking, cycling, shuttle bus usage, and electric vehicle adoption—and implements practical initiatives including bike services, pedestrian footpaths, and shared mobility options. Pedestrian movement is prioritised through safe, dedicated walkways across campus, reinforcing a culture of low-carbon mobility, accessible environments, and integrated green campus living.

The university actively encourages sustainable mobility among students and staff by undertaking actions such as providing campus bicycle services and secure parking, promoting shared transportation and EV use, and supporting awareness campaigns that highlight the environmental benefits of green commuting, thereby helping them choose environmentally responsible travel options.
